Winter 2011-12 Events
|
The Los Angeles Branch conducted a study of Wagner's Lohengrin over two Saturday mornings (Oct. 23 and Nov 6)
as part of Wagner's Ring and Grail works, in parallel with the productions by the Los Angeles Opera. The first morning
was devoted largely to Gertrud Kohler's wonderfully detailed and illuminating study of the opera's plot and
literary sources. The second morning focused on Wagner's music and several notable conductors and vocalists who have recorded it. Here is a link to Gertrud's research in case you missed her presentation or wish to read or keep her contribution.
Thank you, Gertrud, for inspiring us all.
